This segment serves approximately 2.6 million customers. The Dominion Generation segment is involved in the generation operations of regulated electric utility, as well as its related energy supply operations. This segment has a total generation capacity of 21,700 megawatts, which include electricity from gas, coal, nuclear, oil, biomass, and renewable sources, as well as power purchase agreements. Virginia Electric and Power Company serves residential, commercial, industrial, and governmental customers; and wholesale customers, such as rural electric cooperatives and municipalities, as well as wholesale electricity markets.
